Job Summary

To be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Payroll function, ensuring timely processing of all aspects of payroll in accordance with internal policies, legislation, best practice and terms and conditions of employment.

Person Specification:

Essential Desirable
Qualification Min. 6 GCSE passes including Maths and English. Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Technician Level.
CIPP membership or working towards this.
Experience & Knowledge At least three years’ experience in the last five years managing all components of a payroll system.
Working knowledge and experience of Payroll software packages for both UK and ROI. Experience of IRIS Payroll and Sage Micropay Payroll.
Knowledge of payroll and pensions legislation and regulations in UK and ROI.
Proficient in MS Office computer packages specifically MS Excel and MS Word. Experience of time and attendance clocking systems.
Abilities & Skills Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload. Developed problem solving skills, including the ability to manage conflicting work demands.
Capacity to work independently with limited supervision.
Demonstrates a strong customer orientation.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to liaise and advise staff at all levels.
Can deliver high quality work with excellent attention to detail.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal with good presentation and interpersonal skills.
To be flexible and work as part of a team.
Able to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
Must be very ‘hands on’ with can do attitude.
